Dressage in Saskatoon and the surrounding area
The Mane Event, Equine Education & Trade Fair is pleased to announce that Janet Foy will be the Dressage clinician at this year’s event, April 25 – 27, 2014 at Westerner Park in Red Deer, Alberta. Janet will be conducting the following sessions over the three days of the expo; FEI Level Movements; Correct Lungeing of Horse and Rider; Developing the Paces; and Teaching Lateral Work. Ms. Foy will also be presenting the following lectures: Getting Better Scores – Showing Do’s and Don’ts; and How to Select a Dressage Horse.
Janet Foy’s biography:
Janet is a native of Colorado Springs. She graduated from the University of Colorado with a degree in advertising and marketing. Her interest in dressage started when she lived in Oxford, England, and she passed several British Horse Society Instructor Exams. She is currently an FEI 4* judge, USEF “S” Dressage Judge and an USEF Sport horse “R” Breeding Judge. Recently she was promoted as an FEI Technical Delegate. She has judged at all major shows in the United States including the FEI North American Young Rider Championships, the FEI North American Junior Championships, the USA World Cup League Finals, the FEI North American Championships, Dressage at Devon, USET Festival of Champions and FEI shows in California, Illinois, Arizona, Ohio, New Jersey, New York, Colorado, Florida, Washington, and North Carolina.
She has also judged national championships and CDI***/W in Guatemala, England, Columbia, Costa Rica, Barbados, Canada, Poland, Australia and Mexico as well as the FEI World Cup League Finals for the United States, Canada and Australia. Janet was on the panel that selected the USA team for 2004 Athens, the 2006 WEG, the 2007 Pan American Games, 2008 Beijing, 2010 WEG and the 2012 London Olympic Games. The FEI appointed her to judge the 2010 Central American Caribbean Games in Puerto Rico. She served as the FEI Technical Delegate at the 2013 Central American Games in Costa Rica. She has passed her FEI Exam to be a Young Horse Judge, and has judged the USEF Young Horse and Developing Horse Championships several times.
She is a former member of the USDF Executive Board, a current member of the USEF Board of Directors, a 20 year former member of the USEF Technical Dressage Committee and the Chairman of the USEF High Performance Dressage Committee. She is also on the USDF “L” Faculty and instructs federation judges training programs throughout the United States for dressage and sport horse breeding. Janet travels around the country conducting highly successful Trainer/Judge Symposiums with Steffen Peters and Debbie McDonald.
Her first book “Training the not so Perfect Dressage Horse” was published by Trafalgar Press in June 2012.
